1. Our Commitment

betterDog is committed to making betterdogshop.com usable by as many people as possible, including people who use assistive technology. We regard accessibility as part of building a site well, not as an afterthought.

2. Conformance Target

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines are the recognized international standard for making web content accessible to people with a wide range of needs.

We describe our conformance as partial. Some areas of the Site may not yet fully meet Level AA, and third party content and tools embedded in the Site are not always within our control.

3. What We Have Done

Our ongoing work includes:

  • Text alternatives for meaningful images
  • Semantic headings and landmark structure so screen readers can navigate the page
  • Keyboard access to navigation, product selection, and checkout
  • Visible focus indicators on interactive elements
  • Color and type chosen with contrast in mind, and text that remains legible when enlarged
  • Layouts that reflow on small screens and at increased zoom levels
  • Form fields with associated labels and clear error messages
  • Accordion and expandable sections built with accessible controls

4. Known Limitations

Third party components, including our payment, subscription, and review tools, are provided by vendors whose accessibility we do not directly control. We report issues to those vendors when we find them. Where a third party component blocks a task, we will help you complete it by email.

5. Tell Us When Something Does Not Work

If you encounter a barrier on this Site, we want to hear about it. Email support@betterdogshop.com and include:

  • The page address where the problem occurred
  • A description of the problem
  • The browser, device, and assistive technology you were using, if you know

We aim to respond within one business day, and we will tell you what we find and what we intend to do.

6. Alternative Ways to Reach Us

If any part of this Site prevents you from placing an order, managing an Auto-Refill subscription, requesting a refund, or reading a policy, email support@betterdogshop.com and we will complete the task with you directly.

7. Ongoing Work

We review accessibility as part of our normal design and development work, and we update this statement as that work progresses.
